Jim Garamone writes James Miller, defense policy undersecretary, told reporters that his meeting with Wang Guanzhong, deputy chief of general staff for the Chinese Peopleâs Liberation Army, aimed to establish strategic trust and explore collaboration opportunities.
Officials discussed maritime security in China and exchanged views on nuclear policy, space, missile defense and cyber issues, according to AFPS.
Miller says he emphasized U.S. concerns over North Korea’s nuclear development during the talks, Garamone reports.
âWe called on China to pressure North Korea to return to a process of credible and authentic negotiations aimed at denuclearization,” Miller added.
