OMB Rescinds Some Rules on Agency Financial System Control

1 min read

BudgetThe Office of Management and Budget is reducing the number of rules that govern agencies’ financial systems in order to give them more control over how to update the systems, Federal News Radio reported Monday.

Jason Miller writes OMB has cut down the number of requirements agencies must follow under the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act from more than 500 to nearly 60.

OMB Director Sylvia Burwell announced the change in a memo to agencies and said the budget office aims to focus more on output and outcomes.

Specifically, OMB rescinded Circular A- 127 of the guidelines and moved that section into Appendix D of Circular A-123, Miller reports.
