1 min read

CloudThe U.S. General Services Administration has selected the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation to assess third-party reviews of cloud computing providers under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program.

The FedRAMP approach works to assess, authorize and monitor cloud products and services with the goal of helping the government reduce costs and minimize workforce, GSA said Tuesday.

Dave McClure, associate administrator of GSA’s office of citizen services and innovative technologies, said A2LA will aim to help the government carry out its review processes for cloud technologies.

“The selection of A2LA to handle the 3PAO reviews is a significant milestone as we grow FedRAMP in partnership with industry and government cloud stakeholders” added McClure.

Cloud providers use third-party assessment organization reviews to verify FedRAMP compliance and A2LA plans to open the 3PAO application process later this year.
