Shelley Metzenbaum, a former White House budget office official, has joined a foundation that aims to help rebuild the public’s trust in government, Federal News Radio reports.

Jason Miller writes that Metzenbaum will be responsible for the Volcker Alliance‘s multi-level government effectiveness programs.

She left the Office of Management and Budget earlier this month after serving as associate director for performance and personnel management.

Metzenbaum also will work with Alliance board members such as Sheila Blair, former Rep. Tom Davis, former OMB director Alice Rivlin and former Health and Human Services Secretary Donna Shalala.

Miller reports the alliance works with academia, government, business and think tanks to research government performance and make recommendations for developing and implementing policies.
