Report: John Kerry Meets With Iraq Leaders On Syria

John Kerry, U.S. secretary of state, flew to Iraq in an unannounced visit to talk with Iraqi leaders about how Iranian fighters and weapons are entering Syria, RTHK reports.

Kerry traveled to Baghdad to talk to Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and other senior officials after visiting Israel with President Barack Obama.

The website reports that Kerry plans to speak with Iranian officials about how continued arms and fighters overflying to Syria.

According to the Christian Science Monitor, the U.S. Iraq to rigorously inspect Iranian cargo flights that ship arms to Syria.

Iran has used Iraq’s airspace to provide arms to forces fighting for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, the Monitor reports.
