The General Services Administration has launched a mobile application to help federal employees know lodging, meal and reimbursement rates when they travel.

Janet Dobbs, GSA’s deputy associate administrator of Travel, Transportation & Asset Management, announced the launch in an Aug. 5 blog entry.

The application allows employees to search rates by location or zip code. Once the location is chosen, rates display by current month.

Users can scroll through the months of the federal government’s fiscal year, from October to September, to find the rate they need. When fiscal year 2012 rates are released, users can search for them using the app.

The application is currently available on iPhone and Blackberry platforms. Dobbs said plans are underway to include an Android application in the near future.
