According to President Barack Obama, Americaâs economic prosperity in the 21st century will depend on cybersecurity. Thatâs why a new web forum was launched to call for discussion on how to âchange the game,â or bring new concepts about ways to boost cybersecurity.
The new web forum was launched yesterday after a live webcast was held to instate the new forum. Three game-changing ideas have already emerged from The National Cyber Leap Year.
The new concepts include moving target, tailored trustworthy spaces and cyber economic incentives. A moving target will ensure that systems and data are in multiple dimensions making it more difficult for the attacker to intrude. Tailored trustworthy spaces will be adapting security measures particular to that system. Cyber-economic incentives would be the technique of giving incentives, such as tax breaks, to those who have strong cybersecurity systems in place and ensure cyber crime does not remain as lucrative as it currently is.
Howard A. Schmidt, the presidentâs cybersecurity coordinator, and Aneesh Chopra, the federal chief technology officer, are calling citizens to join this new forum to further develop these concepts. They are hoping the forum helps to âensure that cyberspace is safe and secure for commerce, learning, innovation, interaction, and discovery.â
