USAJOBS Gets Makeover

1 min read

usajobsThe Office of Personnel Management has taken steps to improve the federal government’s job engine USAJOBS.gov, making changes to increase ease and efficiency.

“USAJOBS is a great example of a hugely successful internet job site, the one that is helping people find Federal jobs,” said OPM Director John Berry.

The changes taken were based on an extensive level of research, including focus groups and customer surveys.

“With the changes made to USAJOBS, and with our commitment to creating a simpler and more transparent Federal hiring process, we are giving applicants the information and tools they need to find the best Federal job for them,” said Berry.

The changes include an updated look for the site, as well as a higher level of personalization and new social networking aspects.  There has also been a focus on improving site navigation and an enhanced job search tool.

Another important aspect is that applicants now have the ability to track the status of their applications, rather than wait weeks or months for notification that may never come.

While the changes have been extensive for USAJOBS, OPM has indicated a commitment to making sure the site works – even it means more changes.

“I am committed to continual improvements in USAJOBS for all those who have responded to the call to serve,” said Berry.
